Cook County is Looking for Residents to Serve on the Employee Appeals Board

By at May 7, 2013 | 2:23 pm | Print

The Employee Appeals Board hears all appeals by any career service employee not represented by a union, of discharge, demotion, or suspension for a period of more than ten days upon request of the employee.  In addition, the Employee Appeals Board may be requested by the President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners or by the Chief of Human Resources to prepare special reports or to otherwise give advice on human resource issues.

Members are appointed by the President of the County Board and serve six year terms.  Members earn $500 per official meeting, not to exceed $12,000.

Applications will be accepted online until Sunday, May 12 at 11:59 PM.  All applicants will be notified of our decision within two weeks of the close of the application period.

All Cook County residents are encouraged to apply.  However, please note that appointment to the Employee Appeals Board will be contingent on successfully passing a criminal background check.
